Hood I

Sunday, January 5th, 2014

The Trans Am hood was seemingly in good shape with only a few small patches of surface rust.  However soda blasting revealed a rusted imprint from where the hood decal once resided.   Most of the rust was removed mechanically and then followed up by chemical rust removal in the deeper pits.

Back to Work

Sunday, December 22nd, 2013

Some modest progress is made after a rather long break.  The air cleaner housing has been shaved of all unused emissions features and the shaker scoop is sanded and primed.

Tuesday, August 6th, 2013

More fiberglass work was done on the flush mount flares from YearOne.  Dynamat was installed on the doors in key places to control resonance.

Mirrors and Fender Vents

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

Both side view mirrors were sanded and painted.  A gold stripe to match the fender lettering was painted on the fender vent.  The square mesh screen in the vents were replaced with honey-comb style mesh from McmasterCarr and painted to match.  The gold accents in the vents really pop against the black.   Very pleased how these turned out.

Bumper Cover

Saturday, March 9th, 2013

The bumper cover was fitted and looks decent.  A little more adjustment and it should be good to go.
